Summary

Fredrick was at one point a loyal guardian of an old family, however death was his final reward for a life long devoted to the protection of the family name. Now Fredrick's bones act as the guardian for another, the True Necromancer, Nezra.

Appearance

Off white bones covered in studded leather armor and wielding a longsword and a large wooden shield. Fre'drick is also often disguised by a long flowing cloak and hood.

Fre'drick's eyes glow with a soft green light in the dark.

Life Before Death

Yet to be uncovered.

Re-animation and a New Mission

As a trial of her new found abilities, Nezra was made to find, collect and animate the bones of her first undead minion. The grave of Fre'drick was the lucky grave chosen.

Fre’drick, Protector from the Past

I once read a passage within a small book, A set of words so weary and bleak, Final and ending they did make me feel, Last of all at testament for the meek.

When we die it is the end.

I had heard the stories of those who had tried, Of wizards and witches, Each who defied, The evil we call death, final and true, By becoming liches, vampires and ghouls.

When we die it is the end.

Our desires can make us go wrong, like a dissonant verse mixed in a song. Power, wealth, fear, and lust We will squander it all until we go bust. But what of those who thought not of these, Who expected to pass on with the greatest of ease? I was called strong, mighty, and deft, I once sheltered all from the dirge that is death.

For I did not die.

I was a protector guarding the weak, Refusing to let their blood be shed. It is for that very reason That I wound up dead... yet not.

The blade swung in a mighty arch, Threatening, deadly, the design of killing art, Its mark was my daughter, it’s aim quite true, But I stood before it and thus my blood was drew. I toppled to the ground, bleeding away. I would be dead this very day... yet not.

I watched as they bore me back to my home, To bury me deep, topped by a dome, Of dirt and a marker listing my name As another who fell, all quite a shame. I wiped away their tears, Told them I wasn’t gone, To look for me with the coming of dawn.

For I did not die.

Sorrow I felt with the passing of days, For my family grew old and lay beside me in graves. I could not pass though I didn’t know why, Bound to the world, a mortal, a fly. Yet hope I still held, To be unbound from my shell, An end to this place that was becoming a hell, For a young woman walked toward my grave, Bearing a mark that was feared, Unjustly, she must be saved.

A Necromancer came to me.

She knelt over the graves, lost to time Her youth show aspiration, Determined to climb, From a legacy of hate, overcoming the challenge.

A Necromancer came to me.

If she felt my bones stir deep in the dirt, She did not show it, Remaining inert. A soft song she sang Elven in nature It’s sad tune poured out, rich and firm, I knew right then it could make the living squirm. But my bones did not care, I was revitalized and young, Finally my chance, salvation had come. I stood from my grave, ready at last, To do what I was born for,

Protector from the Past. (by Tim)
