==Summary==
The Dragons of Saratta are a unique breed compared to other fantasy settings. Dragons were not created by any one god. In fact, they were not created by the gods at all. Dragons come in many shapes, sizes, and colors. A Dragon's color does not dictate how it will react either. While color may indicate a disposition toward doing good or evil, many Dragons appear to have their own choice in the matter. A Dragon can still be killed much like any other creature, but their lifespans never ends, making them one of the few immortal beings in the world.

The god Oontarm was told by the first Wyrms (pronounced by the world's Dragon kind as "Why-Rim") that they would serve as the immortal guardians of the land so long as it existed. The gods were pleased by the gift graced to them by the creatures and have since done their best not to interfere in Wyrm kinds business.

==The First Dragon Rain==
As the world was being made, [[Ambries]] asked [[Oontarm]] to bring the stars glistening within the Veil closer so that all the beings that would live on Saratta could gaze upon them. The god of Magic did as his lover asked, reaching beyond the heavens and beckoning the stars to come. Surprisingly, many of them resisted, maintaining their distant glow. Others flew in, just as the gods expected. The god of Magic raised his hand to slow the advancing stars, preparing to poise the glistening gems in the skies above so that everyone could look in wonder. To the dismay of the gods present, they did not stop.

The gods watched in horror as the small stars sailed onward, right into their world. Balls of fire screamed down through the atmosphere, trailing fire, ash, and billowing black smoke behind them like massive tails. Then the smoke gave way, and from the fires giant wings emerged, spreading wide, lifting the first of the Great Wyrms into the Sarattese skies. The first was covered in bladed obsidian scales, with a crown of horns the color of polished ivory. Others wore plates of gold and silver, while more flew the colors of the sunset and night from where they came. Their eyes darted across the lands, spotting blemishes and smudges that the gods handiwork had yet to complete. The Wyrms drew in a great breaths and belched boiling red, orange, and blue flames across them, smoothing the land to a finish with ease an that even the gods awed.
