Born in 996 LD, Melody ascended to the Imperial throne of [[Naltronia]] at the age of 14, the last surviving member of the Tilson bloodline. She was crowned Empress by the [[Eyes of Litamoria]] at the Citadel in Ausburg, 12th of Dawntide, 1010 LD. Melody commands respectable psionic ability and was undertaking military training prior to taking the throne. It had been the intention of [[Emperor Godrick Tilson|her father]] that she would serve as an Eye of Litamoria one day.

The new Empress inherited an Empire that was in shambles. The Naltronian Aramish conflict had devastated Imperial resources, and the treasury had been lost during a Coup that had been orchestrated by the traitor [[Mardock Kales]]. Those who had been loyal to her father within the city of [[Naltroy]] were slain, or mentally dominated to serve Kales. The betrayal could not have come at a worse time, as the Gnolls of Naltrim had banded together and were staging assaults on many of the Empires cities. The [[Gnoll]] threat was steadily growing, and word had reached them just hours before the Empress's coronation that [[Pengrad]] had fallen to Gnoll forces.
