Player Characters

In many groups the characters all possess a similar quality, in the case of this group it was the inability to fit in normally. While no one was considered normal by any standards it should be noted that almost all the starting characters of this campaign were people that did not fit in with society and decided to adventure out.

Brent of Hale - The Ephryn barbarian and later ranger who could be considered the leader of this cohort. Brent was a forthright, honest and strong person who was able to keep most of these people in line. Despite Brent's lack of mental faculties he actually was one of the wiser people in the party. His main motivation for traveling was to find his lost tribe and start a family as well. He did find a suitable partner and settled down and had children with her. Brent was the one that had started the idea of hunting Verdis. Montblanc nicknamed Brent "Dimples" because of the wide smile Brent possessed.

Montblanc The Bamboozler - the gnomish wizard who was a powerful as he was annoying. He served to be one of the brains of the party next to Loric. He was also undoubtedly one of the funniest people of the party. His motivation for travel was to find material for his new book. Despite the mischief he got into he was a well dependable member of the party when he wasn't drinking. This character was played by User:Helik4888.

Loric - The Male psion on the run from Naltronia. A grandiose man with a grandiose plan. He believed it to be in his inherent nature to rule others and sought a means to do so. He was very much the planner of the party often giving counter points to any insane ideas everyone else came up with. At various points in the game though his own sanity was called into question as he was haunted by nightmares and tried hard to contain the power within him. In one instance he lost control of his power and "exploded" in a burst of psionic disintegrate. While he lost his life as well as the lives of others he was brought back to life. His power grew even more leading up to the battle of Barrier Hold. Where he was a key player in it, unfortunately he lost his life again to a Sun Soul and was not brought back. He was nicknamed Micky because he had big ears.

Nyle - the feisty druid whose catch phrase "I will turn you into a tree once I figure out how" became a defining feature of her. She was a young druid that traveled with her owl whom she never revealed its name. She made her own personal grove in the village of Rosewood, Mishar. She built it on a spring of Life Water which made it grow big and strong but also attracted some unwanted attention. A few blighters took interest in her grove but she defended it against them as well as traded with them. In the party she acted as the healer and eccentric source of common sense. Her strong will and can do attitude is what made her a valuable member of the party. Over the course of the campaign she connected with most of the party in a loving fashion. Her primary reason for hunting Verdis was that he was a threat to the natural world and must be stopped.

Ovak - The Pious Monk of Demüen whose possed strength equal to her devotion. Born a half orc she grew up in a monastery learning about the graces of the Lord of Flame. When she joined the party she seemed to be the most distant from it but eventually became a valuable soldier in the fight against Verdis. She was called Pots by Montblanc initially because she sounded like pots clanging together when she moved. He would later rename her to be Scarecrow because her brain was full of straw. Her main motivations for traveling was perfecting her self for Demüen. She would call upon his great power many times throughout the adventure.

Cyrus

Soveliss

Ivelios -The elf who always had an out, Ivelios was a elf of Tyr and a late addition to the party. He was looking for adventure and had been following the party for some time to see if they were "interesting" enough. He is a devout follower and past consort of the goddess of luck Marisse, which resulted in him always having a plan or an item to get out of trouble. He always understood the value of surprise which resulted in him actually hiding his identity with a magic headband so that he appeared human to those around him. For the second time in his life he used the gift of Marisse to have unnatural luck during the campaign which resulted in the Othar Verdis dropping the rune blade Bris, which Ivelios then picked up and caused to shatter by having the blade use it's soul cutting attack on Verdis, who had bound his soul inside the rune blade itself. This resulted in Verdis being mortal once again and a killing blow was struck. Ivelios is still the wielder of Bris and is slowly learning about it while he once again earns back his luck.

The group encounters many of these undead and quickly put an end to them. The group also makes friends with the local guard and the town gravekeeper. On one night the party makes a valiant stand against the mysterious monsters in the village graveyard. In one of the crypts several of the party members find a spring of life water and the Druid Nyle uses its power to make the plants grow. A paladin by the name of Glarion Unterspike shows up and says he will save the city from the plague of undead that haunts them. In one final battle the group tracks down several kamricon to a small cave outside of town and kill the beasts with the help of Unterspike. Upon inspection of the bodies they find a set of serial numbers. The town of Rosewood celebrates the slaying of the beasts and pays the heroes well. On the day of the celebration however a messenger from a city just north of their calls for heroes to help slay some ghosts.

Hale

The Heroes arrive in the city of Hale to find that the problem was taken care of by Glarion Unterspike when in actuality he was setting it free. Throughout investigation of the town strange occurrences had been happening, children missing, buildings being haunted and violent activity against the villagers. The party investigated many different places throughout the town trying to find out what was causing it. Indeed it appeared to be ghosts as unseen foes tried to both kill and talk with the party members. On the southeast side of town there was an abandoned mansion that Loric took interest in. He and Montblanc "met' of the ghosts their who turned out to be a confused entity that provided little information. In one of the haunted houses the group met a bit more coherent ghost that informed the party that they were experiments and now had lost their physical bodies. The ghost also informed the party that Verdis and a man called the Butcher were violent people who wanted something that was hidden in this town. Using a strange flower fond in the mansion the party got glimpses of the future and past. With this information Montblanc was able to locate a small locked box that contained a red crystal that had a heart beat. While most of the party investigated what was going on around town, Brent had different ideas. He found a women that he immediately took fancy too and wished to court. The party also encountered a person who looked just like Glarion Unterspike and claimed that he himself was Glarion Unterspike. Eventually events in the city caused the party to go to the abandoned mill south of town to confront Verdis and the Butcher and give them the crystal Montblanc found. However the party discovered the crystal was heart of a living city that once existed long ago. The party fought Verdis and the butcher but Verdis got away in the fray, leaving a trail of bodies as a message, tempting them to pursue him.
