- 1. A map forcibly taken from the hands of one who is dying.
The people of The Isles hold a superstition that a dying individual’s last breath will curse a map if they are holding it. Anyone who follows the map will be lead to an ill fate by the vengeful nature of the spirit that gets attached to the map.
The spirit cursing a Deadman’s Map is always evil, regardless of the person or circumstances that resulted in the death.
