His world is one of trivial tasked and menial labor until he unleashes a Faerie with the power to grant 3 wishes. With such temptation Dalin quickly learns that not all wishes are a good thing. With trials and stresses of his own making piling up, can young Dalin Masterson mend his wrong and take responsibility for his actions, or will he be doomed by power?
Background Information: Masterson's Arcanum serves a double purpose. To young people the book is a fairy tale for pure enjoyment. To scholars it contains a second layer of information if you know what to look for. Written by the wizardress Clara Fain in 824 LD, Masterson's Arcanum continues her tradition of circumventing the Council's order against passing magic spells to the masses.
Hidden beneath the text is a cipher that when cracked gives the reader access to an intriguing spell: Unlock Text. To crack the Cipher, the reader must possess an Intelligence score of 17 or higher, or possess the skills for deciphering script (DC:24).
Read Time: 2 hours; 10 hours if the cipher is uncovered and the reader decides to crack the code.
