Summary

Anze is a Tyran Elf who eventually became a mercenary. She has traveled most of the world, except the Isles. She is known to be rather impulsive tending to jump into situations without thinking. This nature has sometimes earned her the tile of "hero" which she firmly denies. She often responds to that by saying "Heros are just people who do stupid things at the right time, and I do lots of stupid things." After her mercenary career ended she signed on with the Naltroinian military in Fleetfoot Division 2 and over the course of the year ended up leaving the military to help fight the demon Basrek. After stopping him she moved to Naltroy to retire and raise her child that was fathered by Nathan Cannigan.

Appearance

She stands about 5'10" and is relatively lean. Her skin is tanned from years fighting and training in the sun. She keeps her raven black hair cropped to the bottom of her ears. Physically she tends to lack the curves of the average woman, but does not appear to have overly toned muscles. She keeps in shape and tends to stay relatively thin. She also is somewhat flat chested which she considers an advantage when wearing armor. Overall she is strong and very quick.

Early Life

Anze was born in Corael, Tyr and lived there for 27 years until she joined the Red Skies Company. Her parents were very concerned with moving up in society and had little time for her. She spent much of her time in the woods and playing with other children down by the docks in the non-elven district. Most nights she did not return home and opted to sleep in the woods or any other safe location she could find. She was physically active and in great shape. As she grew older she began to learn how to fight and by the time she was in her mid 20s she was doing street fights for money and had considerable success due to her natural speed and trained strength. Her parents eventually saw her fighting one day and forced her into training as a priestess of Demüen at the temple in the city.

Temple Years

Anze did not fit in well at the temple. She tended to be a loner and did little to integrate herself with the other girls. She found the whole experience to be hypocritical. She felt everyone talked about protecting the weak, but they did nothing to actually do that. She still maintained a strong faith in Demüen even though she took issues with the clergy. The whole issue came to a head about five months into her time there. A girl a few years younger than Anze joined the training. She was timid and quiet and didn't interact much with the others as well. Anze kept her distance until one day when she noticed the other group of girls had the new girl cornered and were belittling her to the point of tears. Anze completely lost it, walked up to the lead girl, spun her around and punched her in the nose causing blood to spray all over her white smock. While the other girls took off to get the priestesses Anze sat and consoled the girl and talked with her. Her name was Idanya. Through out the next two and a half years a relationship started to form between then. Eventually they were found out and kicked out of the temple. Idanya went with her parents and Anze never saw her again. Anze did not go home and stayed near the docks.

Mercenary Years

In the weeks following her expulsion from the temple Anze stayed near the docks and tried to find a way out of Tyr. She managed to impress Thoal Shatterscar, the leader of the Red Skies Company, with her agility and strength and he took her on to train with them. Initially she was harassed by the other mercenaries, but over time became a competent warrior and was well respected by the majority of the company. During her early years she spent a good amount of time with the company's healer, Seralic, and learned the basics of healing and alchemy. She remained one of the few regulars in the company for 25 years. Eventually, she became good friends with Myriam Lightstep and Dar Solonari and spent much of her time with them. She eventually ended up marrying Myriam. Unfortunately, five years later Myriam was killed during a battle. Anze took it really hard and ended up leaving the company after something she did to Dar. She left Mishar, where they were currently stationed, for the Naltronian Empire. After months of travel and reflection she was hired by the military into Fleetfoot Division 2.

Military Time

Anze spent almost a year with the division. She participated in the divisions initial investigations of cultist activity in the country, defended Thädir against the Bloodmaul (with the help of Rhystyvn Ghostwolf), the rescue of DuGrace and Bridgit Nightbreeze and accompanied the emperor to Arambashia for negotiations. During her time working for the military she developed a strong friendship with the cleric of Estridae, Afanen. Anze looked to Afanen as her adviser and friend for the period of time she ran the division while DuGrace was captured. During this time the beginnings of Anze's relationship with Nathan Cannigan began. During the trip to Arambashia, DuGrace tasked them with finding the Klenad. This mission required them to officially leave the military and would not see them back in Naltronia for a year and a half.

Stopping Basrek

Anze ended up leading the group for the rest of their quest. They recovered the book and magically returned it to Naltronia, but at the cost of Afanen's life. The group took a ship around the world from Arambashia, stopping in Tyr, and finally returning to Naltronia. They reunited with Nathan Cannigan and Rhystyvn Ghostwolf, and found the book had been taken from the tower it was held in and they continued to follow the trail. It took them across the world. Anze found a new friend in the sorcerer Abigor, Afanen was returned to the world as a God-Kissed, and they hired one of their enemies, Chandra Vale, to work for them. Vale latter became a good friend to the group and sacrificed her life to save them. During a time a of despair Nathan began to follow Telraedye, which later Anze would declare her love for him and pull him away from the god's grasp for some time. After using a risky method of using the Abyss to jump across the world Nathan lost control of his powers, and to save the group Anze killed him. Anze was crushed by this and did not really recover from it. The death of Vale added more to that, but she decided to see the quest through. Vale was returned to the world after Anze asked a dragon to call in a favor. The group ended up stopping Basrek and went their separate ways.

Quiet Life

Following the events with Basrek Anze returned to Naltronia with DuGrace to speak with Rhystyvn Ghostwolf and help create a peace between the Gnoll and the people of Naltronia. DuGrace told her she could not come because she was carrying Nathan's child. She moved back to Naltronia to open a small herb shop, named The Twin Roses, and to raise her child, Myriam, in relative quiet.
