Stream of Souls
When an individual dies, their soul departs the physical plane and begins its passage to the afterlife. The first place a soul encounters is the Stream of Souls. The Stream is a moving flow of souls making their last journey to the beyond. Many of the souls traveling the stream are greeted by the goddess Estridae, Lady of Death. She consoles the newly departed and calms their soul, preparing them to pass through The Last Gate and into The Void.
All of the gods have the ability to tap into the Stream, and the faithful are often greeted by their deity as they pass on. Brashq is the most notable of the gods for arriving before Estridae and often makes offers to those with power or a desire for vengeance. Those who are willing to serve are often brought back to life to serve the god for eternity.
Others, like Balphurus, appear to the wicked and drag them into the Burning Eternities as punishment for their ways.
In art, the Stream of Souls is depicted as a river that weaves its way through Myssora, briefly touching Saratta before flowing into the beyond.
