Tyr is the southernmost country of Thistol Narod. It is the home of the Tyran Elves. Most of the country is covered in forest, but is maintained to perfection by magics.

Culture

The elves of Tyr are a proud race and tend to favor only other Tyran elves. They view other races as beneath them, and commonly take slaves. The is a obvious segregation between the elves of Tyr and all other races inside the country. Outside most major cities small towns of non-elves spring up that the Tyran elves seem to tolerate for trade reasons. They also pride appearance heavily. Cities are build with the purpose of beauty and the citizens themselves dress themselves to convey a sense of importance. The most noticeable emphasis on appearance comes from the forests of the country. Great effort is put into magically altering the forest to remove any sign of imperfection. Any element of decay is magically dealt with to maintain an appearance of perfection.

Religion

One major cultural aspect of the Tyran elves is the prevalence of religion into their culture. The worship Demüen and the religious imagery associated with that appears thought the culture. Temples to the god are common in any major city and many small towns contain some official shrine to the god. Religious locations, such as the Pool of Tears, are so important to the elves that they are guarded by the Fireguard, one of the most elite Tyran military units. Fireguard leaders are even considered to have as much religious significance as priests of the order, and are religious leaders in their own right.

Economy

Most of Tyr boarders the ocean and many of the major cities are ports, so it is not surprising that the economy is heavily tied to the sea. Fishing is common, but is rarely a traded good. Tyr thrives off the slave trade and uses it's vast ports to keep this trade alive. Most large port cities include a small non-elven settlement that has its own docks that take ships that are not meant for the elven citizens. These provide goods that in turn end up in the Tyran economy.

The other major element of the Tyran economy is slavery. The slave trade is a large part of the economy and culture. Owning a slave is a symbol of status , and as a result their is a high demand for slaves. The common cultural trend for Tyran Elves to try and rise in society makes good slaves a prized possession.
