Demon Lieutenants are the top dogs of the Abyssal hierarchy. The number of Lieutenants has varied across the ages but there are usually two. Demons that achieve this rank are extremely powerful and possess unique abilities that put them ahead of the rest. Lieutenants rarely leave the Abyss as their duties require them to oversee the realm in Balphurus's stead, a duty they perform to the letter.
To date, the only Lieutenant every pulled from the Abyss and into Saratta was the Demon Basrek during The Rune War. The current Lieutenant (986 LD) is known as The Thousand Eyes.
